Kristina Marinara & Vodka Sauce
Kristina Brand began with our grandfather, who built his business importing tomatoes for wholesale distribution and named the brand after his first granddaughter, Kristina.
Years later, our Uncle Pete owned and operated a beloved restaurant in Guilford, Connecticut, where he developed the sauce recipes our family would eventually choose to jar. Using the Italian tomatoes that had always been at the heart of the family business, those recipes became Kristina Marinara and Kristina Vodka Sauce.
Today, they are the same kind of sauces we want on our own table: straightforward, flavorful and made from recipes rooted in our family's food business.
Our grandfather started Kristina Brand while importing tomatoes for the wholesale food business, naming it after his first granddaughter.
Our Uncle Pete developed the recipes while running his restaurant in Guilford, Connecticut, serving the kind of Italian food that kept people coming back.
We chose those recipes to become our jarred Marinara and Vodka Sauce, and the response has been overwhelming: customers keep coming back for more.
A family name, a restaurant recipe and Italian tomatoes brought together in two sauces we're proud to put our name on.
The Italian Pantry Starts with Tomatoes
Tomatoes are at the foundation of Italian cooking. From rich, slow-simmered sauces to fresh pasta dishes, soups and pizza, the right tomato brings natural sweetness, balanced acidity and depth of flavor to the table. Explore whole peeled tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, passata and other traditional Italian styles suited to everything from everyday meals to Sunday sauce.
Whole and peeled tomatoes give you control over texture and consistency, making them ideal for sauces, braises and rustic preparations. Cherry tomatoes tend to offer a naturally sweeter flavor and work beautifully in quick sauces and simple pasta dishes.
Passata offers a smooth, refined tomato base that's ideal for silky sauces, pizza and soups, while crushed tomatoes provide a more rustic texture. Each style gives you a different starting point depending on the dish you're creating.
